Austin Miller

My name is Austin Miller, and there are a few main things I typically use to describe myself when meeting new people.

1. I’m a Texas boy through and through.

2. I’m an engineer…so I’m a bit of a nerd, and I’m sometimes better with numbers than people.

3. My hobbies are books and traveling.

I took my first trip abroad when I graduated college to have a nice break before starting to work in the real world. I actually flew out the morning before my graduation, and I never regretted it in the slightest. That trip sparked a desire for travel that still burns strong, and I have traveled to over 30 countries since then. I have gone through the highs and lows, made the mistakes, and learned so much along the way, and I just love the adventure. I also love getting to share that experience with other people. My friends know that I’m not a big talker, but travel is something I can sit and talk about for hours.

I think traveling helps make the world a better place by making us a little better along the way. Traveling gets us outside the little bubble we live in and outside of our comfort zone. It opens our eyes up to the world around us and makes us a little more understanding and empathetic towards others. The more travelers we have on this planet the more people there will be helping break down walls of division rather than trying to erect barriers, and I hope to play a part in that by helping encourage you to join in on the adventure and take that first leap.
